Bloomington, IL – Lifelong Access is proud to announce that the Pantagraph Building has been officially designated as a historic landmark by the City of Bloomington. This important milestone not only preserves a piece of our city’s architectural legacy, it represents a bold vision for a more inclusive and connected future. Lifelong Access partnered with local businesses, design professionals, and numerous stakeholders to reimagine this historic space as a hub for services, equity, and innovation. The result is more than a renovation; it’s a transformation, where Bloomington’s past meets the promise of a stronger, more inclusive tomorrow.

A Purpose-Driven Space
The newly designed building will house a wide range of services that support individuals across all stages of life. These include:

  • Alternative youth education
  • Applied behavioral health services
  • Community day services
  • Life skills education
  • Dental and wellness care
  • Pediatric services
  • Psychiatry
  • Supported employment programming
  • ...and more.

“This building will not just serve our mission, it will reflect it,” said Karl Kopp , CEO at Lifelong Access. “We are creating a space where care, dignity, and opportunity are built into the design, alongside rich community history.”

A Win for Downtown Bloomington
The historic designation and redevelopment of the Pantagraph Building will provide meaningful benefits to the downtown area. By restoring and reactivating a cornerstone property, Lifelong Access is helping breathe new life into the city center. The project will:

  • Drive economic activity through daily staff, clients, and visitors
  • Encourage investment and revitalization in surrounding properties
  • Preserve a beloved historic structure while giving it new relevance

“This effort is about more than one building, it’s about building momentum for downtown Bloomington as a place where history, community, and opportunity come together,” said Kopp.

Why Historic Matters
