Supported Employment
Supported Employment assists job seekers with the process of obtaining and maintaining a career of their choosing.
To be eligible, an individual must be 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma, and have proof of diagnosis
which can be in the form of the most recent IEP or psychological evaluation within the last 5 years.
At Lifelong Access, we offer job development and job facilitation, formerly known as job coaching. We work in collaboration with the Behavioral Health Clinic to provide a holistic approach to employment.
Services offered through Supported Employment
Job Development begins by pairing the job seeker with a Job Facilitator to meet once a week for one hour. During this time, the Job Facilitator will provide support to the job seeker while creating or revising professional documents such as a resume, cover letter, or references. The Job Facilitator may also provide support for job searching and applying, mock interviews, and skill building.
When a job seeker has been offered employment, Job Facilitators provide support through the interview and onboarding process. Ongoing supports are customized to the needs of the person supported.
Our team recognizes the importance of engaging community stakeholders in our program to pair them with an individual with the skills and interests to meet their needs.
Funding
We have contracts with the Illinois Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS), the state’s leading agency serving individuals with disabilities. This funding allows us to further help individuals with disabilities to find quality employment that pays a living wage.
Accreditation
After going through a rigorous peer-review process, our Supported Employment Program was awarded a 3-year accreditation with CARF! This means that we have a strong commitment to internationally accepted standards of person-centered, quality services. Additionally, it demonstrates to job seekers that we are committed to reducing risk, addressing health and safety concerns, respecting cultural and individual preferences, and providing the best possible quality of care.
