Employee Spotlight: Meet Sarah

Sarah’s dad, who she describes as “the life of the party”, inspired her outgoing and fun-loving personality. Sarah inherited the passion to work with young children from her mom, an art teacher at Sheridan school in Bloomington for more than 25 years.

When Sarah was young, Lifelong Access (then known as Marcfirst) offered an outreach program at Sheridan school. As she would often be in her mom’s classroom when the outreach team were there, Sarah was included in the activities with the rest of the kiddos.

“Fast forward to an adult,” says Sarah, “I saw a job opening for Lifelong Access and it took me back to the great memories I had as a kid. I knew I had to apply! My goal is to create great memories for another kiddo just like that staff member did for me.”

Her position as Clinic Coordinator for the Gregg Chadwick Pediatric Therapy Center at Lifelong Access allows her to combine that passion for working with children, along with her energy, caring, and ability to engage with people of all ages.

“I love building connections with the families and the kiddos,” Sarah says. “I love making sure that the families feel supported, and the kiddos have the resources they need.”

Quick with a smile or a laugh, Sarah thoroughly enjoys the funny moments of interacting with the clients. She says, “our kiddos say the funniest things and that definitely keeps my job interesting!”

Sarah certainly lives her life with gusto. Growing up, she wanted to be a fashion designer (and secretly would love it if Gucci gave her a call to come work for them). She spent a couple years on a drywall crew, where she had a lot of fun learning a new skill. She loves to travel and wants to live in Europe at some point in her life.

Along with traveling, Sarah says, “I love eating good food, and definitely shopping. If I can do that all in one day, I am the happiest person!”

Every day, Sarah lives the Lifelong Access mission of fighting to break down barriers for each other and those who cannot fight for themselves. And she does it with love and respect for her kiddos, their families, and her co-workers.
