Transition Club

 

This is the place where connections are forged and confidence takes flight! The Transition Club is a fun, dynamic after-school program where students (ages 14–22) prepare for adulthood in an engaging, supportive environment.

  • Master Essential Life Skills: Learn practical skills that build true independence.
  • Discover Your Power: Learn to be a strong self-advocate; your most important tool for life.
  • Connect and Contribute: Participate in community involvement that makes a real difference.
  • Prioritize Well-being: Explore topics in physical and emotional health for a balanced life.

 

Breakers Program (Spring Break Learning Program)

 

Turn your spring break into a springboard for independence! The Breakers Program is an intensive, skills-focused program (ages 14–22) designed to demystify the adult world and build competence in crucial areas:

  • Independent Living: Learn the practical skills needed to run your own life.
  • Public Transit: Navigate your community with confidence and ease.
  • Employment & Housing: Get a clear look at career paths and residential options.

Level Up: The Breakers Program runs Monday–Thursday from 8:30 AM–3:30 PM during McLean County spring break (typically the last full week of March).

 

School to Work Summer Program (S.T.W.S.P)

 

Are you ready to stop dreaming about a job and start building a career? A six-week session (starting late June) focused on deeper skill development and experiences. (Tuesday–Thursday, choose a session: 8:30 AM–11:30 AM or 1:30 PM–4:30 PM). Our S.T.W.S.P. program (ages 16–22) is your comprehensive career training program:

  • Skill Building: Develop a compelling resume, sharpen your interview skills, and expand your computer knowledge.
  • Real Experience: Participate in exciting community job shadowing experiences to taste different careers and build professional connections.
